All five original members of popular rap group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, reunited onstage for the first time in years on Monday (December 1) during a sold out performance at Los Angeles' Club Nokia.
Before Monday, the group had not performed together in over 10 years, due to the incarceration of member Flesh-N-Bone, among other internal issues. However, it all came together for fans in Los Angeles, as the group prepares a new album, titled Uni 5.
"Bone Thugs-N-Harmony coming together for the Uni 5 album is a monumental movement for hip-hop and family life in general," the group said to the audience. "It shows that any obstacle can be overcome, and unity, love, and harmony are the best remedies. Hence, Uni 5. The Bone legacy is here to stay."
In front of hundreds of fans, Bone (including Krayzie, Layzie, Bizzy, Wish and Flesh) ran through several of their classic hits without a hitch, including "1st of Tha Month," "I Tried," "Notorious Thugs," and their most popular single to date, "Tha Crossroads."
As previously mentioned, the group have endured internal problems since 2000, when Flesh was sentenced to 12 years in prison for an assault charge, and then later with inner turmoil with member Bizzy Bone. However, the remaining members did release an album last year, titled Strength & Loyalty.
"We are just like any real family," Krayzie said in a statement. "We fight and have disagreements, but at the end of the day, we are brothers, from our skin down to our bones. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be a family, unit, team, and group always."
The forthcoming reunion album, Uni 5, is slated for release in the summer of 2009.
